Gorda Cafe

A small convenience shop by the gas station. Good size coffee cup. Tried the hot mocha and they use just Hershey’s chocolate syrup. Also bought a bag of pork rinds and it turned out it was expired. Not worth going back returning it. Toilet available behind the store. Restaurant nearby.

Glad this place is here in Gorda for gas and snacks but it's all pretty pricey, but that's to be expected because of their location. This is the gas station and market that had some deli items to purchase to eat outside. The actual restaurant is the Whale watcher Cafe. I prefer the sit down restaurant and food at the Whale Cafe. Both places have restrooms.

We didn't eat here. We stopped to eat, but after visiting the restroom we got right back into our car and just made do until we got back to civilization. It was 10am on a week day, and the restrooms were filthy. The individual stalls have extra large trash cans, and they were all full, and the soap AND paper towels were empty. There's no way they had that much business already at that time of day, so they obviously don't clean their restrooms even daily, nonetheless more often than that. And out of paper towels and soap? So then, how are the employees cleaning and drying their hands after using the facilities? Or, are they even washing their hands at all? Yeah. We got right back in the car.

If you can get over the prices in the menu and actually order, you must remember where you are. In no mans land...twilight zone. Very quaint ocean cafe the kind dear ole Grandpa took you too as a kid. A cup of coffee "French roast" will set you back nearly $4 clams. I decided on the salmon tostada with mango salsa and was surprised there were two on the plate. The salmon was cured and delicious, the lettuce was fresh but dry (washed)? The salsa well I don't know what it was I just set it aside. If they would have left the cold straight out of the can rosarita's I would be writing a different tune. Lets just say the song of the ocean was wasted on my plate.:'( Husband had the BBQ chicken looked good and he polished off his plate. I'd eat there again and tell them ixnay on the bea

Best shrimp I've had, huge.I love this place, and the town is perfect. I said I could live here forever.
