Googie's Sandwich Shoppe

Great classic sub shop. Wide variety of sandwiches, lots of chip choices, and decent pricing. My husband and I get lunch to-go here often during the work week or to take to the park/beach in the summer

Googies has been around for a long while, and it's well worth a visit. Menu has a huge amount of options, and prices won't scare you. Italian is incredible. All Boars head, fresh cut. Reminds me of hole in the wall sandwich shops in New York City. The guy who runs the place genuinely cares about the customer's experience. Parking is somewhat difficult to find, so plan ahead. There are paid meters on the same street, and 15 minute only parking right out front.

Me and my mom used to come here when I was a kid in the 2000s! Recently brought my boyfriend for the first time and man it’s still so GOOD!! Please never ever close! best sandwiches and service there is around town!!!

Googies is a beloved staple for locals. I’ve had an office at Strawbery Banke for years now and a great day is when I’ve reached a free 10th Googie sandwich. Always fast, always quality, always kind. If you’re in Portsmouth, definitely grab a sandwich and enjoy what the locals run on

I have been several times over the past few years and I have never been disappointed with any of my orders. I have had cold and hot sandwiches and enjoyed eating them. I have not had any of the ice-cream so I have no opinion. I think they are connected to the market next door. Good luck finding a place to park near by. You can eat there or take a short walk to Presscot Park and enjoy the view. I like the street veiw because I have memories of how Portsmouth has transformed over the decades. Googie's occupies the old State Street Warehouse location. Update: June 2019; I had the Ragin' Cajun roast beef sandwich and a turkey wrap. Both were good. But when I went to use my Entertainment coupon, I was given some grief that they were not informed Entertainment went to online. It is not my fault
