Goodcents

What is typically a great experience here, today was less than good. Bread wasn’t fresh and more reminiscent of subway toughness. The chocolate chip cookie was even hard. So I don’t know if there is new ownership and things are made the day before or something, but it’s not the Goodcent’s freshness and softness I’m used to. Hoping the next time is better.

We ordered online and my husband went to pick it up. When he got home we found we were missing a sandwich and a drink. We called to resolve the issue and they said there was nothing to do. They refused to deliver or call door dash or make any attempt at all to remedy their mistake. He said no managers were there and I could figure out my dinner tomorrow. And hung up the phone.

Not an “atmosphere” kinda place - although out the back there is a PUTT-PUTT business running. I’ve not eaten “Mr.” Goodcents since the 80’s & 90’s from my college days in Wichita. Subs are always expensive, but really like the freshly cut meat sandwiches. My wife had a fresh tuna sub / good change from burgers and fries! Stopped in Emporia for the first time EVER and knew it was my choice at first sight!

Update: manager reached out and went above and beyond to make things right. Not typically one to leave reviews but felt this warranted it. Ordered on door dash. A simple sandwich. Meatballs and some veggies and sauces and a couple drinks. The store didn't have the bottled drinks, whatever, it happens. They also chose to send me the worst sandwich I've ever tasted. Literally just burnt, unsauced meatballs on bread (order extra meat and they were equally burnt and dry in a container on the side). Charging what they do it's ridiculous to send out the order they did. We won't be back.
