Goochland Branch Library

We love our local library. We try to make it to Friday storytime and all three of my kiddos enjoys it. The occasional art projects they do, their friendliness, always a smile when you walk in and I love that we all look forward to visiting the library. I pray this stays a place we can enjoy for years to come! Thank you for your hard work and service at our library!!

A lovely library. There are lots of windows, so there's a lot of natural lighting. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and there are tables and chairs for working. The children's section is off to one side, but not fully walled off, so I'm curious if it would be loud when children are visiting. It was very quiet while I was here, during school hours.

Lovely place to do some work outside. Highly recommend.

I've lived many places; Alaska, Utah, Colorado, Illinois, just to name a few, and I am an avid reader... I've seen a lot of libraries. This small town one is a true gem. The staff is king and very helpful, the building is gorgeous, modern, and impeccably clean. The books are. all nicely organized and I love that they are part of the inter community library exchange (not sure what they call it here but basically you get access to all the books at several libraries that share, rather than only the books shelved on their shelves). Anyways, we go here weekly now and plan to continue, great little library!

Goochland used to be a comfortable, quiet place to live where traffic noise wasn't a distraction & costs were manageable. Sound from heavily trafficked roads carries without tree cover. Farmland turned into development doesn't buffer noise. Dining on the patio on a pretty day was unpleasant. Dining outside at the Sunset Grill should have been pleasant. The library is easy to get to but everyone racing about makes a hectic day. Need trees for sound absorption & to protect groundwater, air filtration, sunlight filtering, shade, wildlife habitat, soil quality & stress reduction all as their free service. Dust blowing in my face in the parking lot & harsh sunlight made for a place I didn't want to be. We used to look forward to going to a library. This one is a nice big building but stark. Sit
