Golden Sea Chinese Restaurant

I really hate leaving a bad review, but please save your money. This was my first time. I was in the area and got take out. I ordered the beef and broccoli combination dinner. It was really horrible. Even the fried rice was dried out and tasteless. I feel bad, but when you spend good money, you expect good food.

Not a usual review writer, but saw the 3.9 and thought it was criminal for how high quality the food is here. Yes, I'm sure there are lapses in customer service. The business is run by an elderly couple who clearly enjoy their work even though they might not be a good as they were 30 years ago. But they're kind and take pride in the business. This is the closest you'll get to the quality of NYC chinese food in the area, though Lucky Star in Roxborough is a go to favorite as well.

Food was great,,,,never had a bad dish,,, dining room has been closed for a while and it's takeout only but it's always a good meal

Very fast from time of order to leaving with my food! Egg rolls were hot but heavy on vegetables with little if any of meat or seafood. The shrimp toast was excellent golden brown and crisp on the outside, tasty and moist inside with a decent amount of shrimp. The sweet & sour was excellent and spicy but not too spicy. The General Tso's chicken, contained large pieces of perfectly breaded and seasoned chicken, but the sauce was watery and week tasting. Same with the Scallops in garlic sauce, very watery, no body to it with little taste other than spicy. Overall, dinner was ok, but not at the top of my list to order from again.

I was very pleased with my shrimp fried rice. I will definitely come again.
