Glen Cove Public Library

Feb. 14, 2023 This review is for librarian Amy who was such a sweet heart in helping my son allocating a very popular book of a biography of Freddie Mercury. Not only did she go beyond allocating the book, but also she googled the contribution that Freddie made to the society and printed it out for my son to read. What a thoughtful lady and educator. Thank you, Amy, you just made that much special to our day and our enjoyment of this particular library! I love the " new" library! Tax dollars are finally rewarding! All the librarians are so helpful and knowledgeable on the phone or in person. I used to wanting to become one in my college years in Berkeley. But I concluded that I did not have the gift for such a forbearing trait. Not to mention the tons of knowledge you must posses. T

I love libraries! Everyone is very nice but the Glen Cove library needs an update , no blue ray discs, no cafe

Library has great programs for the kids. However, Im appalled that we forgot my toddler’s black Disney diaper bag/Back pack. The back pack was full of books, tinker toys, change of clothes, sunscreen, hand wipes, hand sanitizer, flash cards, diapers, changing pad, anti eloping strap and crayons ect. The Library’s Director claimed that they threw away our diaper bag after < 5 days. Lost and found still has hats and other small items but they claimed to have tossed out my son’s bag. This is really disappointing. I attended an RSVP event. Our name was 1 of 20. It would not be hard to email the rsvp list and find the owners the bag. So sad.

This is a beautiful library. Although the toddler program is not as extensive as other libraries in the surrounding area I find that the personnel working here is cordial and very accommodating. The library itself is also a very nice environment. They are now renovating the teen department and the children’s section has plenty of educational toys (puzzles, blocks, board games etc.) through which children can learn and explore. My son loves coming here. After moving to Queens, I also appreciate the fact that they are open everyday from 9am.
