Gillis Grier Bed & Breakfast

The house is beautiful inside and out, with a seemingly endless collection of mementos reflecting its long history. We liked the location, in a historic neighborhood easily walkable to the downtown area. The bedrooms are very comfortable. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful, and a pleasure to talk with. Breakfasts are great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Yall I wouldn’t stay anywhere different when visiting! The house is so gorgeous I was just in awe every time I turned a corner. The neighborhood is also so beautiful and prefect for morning walks and coffee on the front porch. The owners of the house are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and are very accommodating. Drinks are constantly stocked and you can serve yourself coffee and tea whenever you like. So many places to sit and just relax around the house. Rooms are clean beautiful and AC can be controlled from your room. Breakfast was so delicious and we had a different meal each day. If you want an overall enjoyable experience and not just some place to sleep, stay here!!!!

This is a must stay! Definitely our favorite place we have stayed on our trip so far. Beautiful home with extremely comfortable beds. The hosts couldn't have been more welcoming and hospitable and we thoroughly enjoyed talking with them. They served an incredible breakfast in the morning and had very high quality teas. This is how lodging should be! You will not be disappointed. Very reasonable prices for the quality as well.

We had a wonderful stay at Gillis Grier! Luis and Rhonda clearly have a passion for restoring a beautiful house and sharing it with others. So clean, beautiful, full of history and charm. What else could you ask for? Breakfast we delicious and you can tell they take great effort to make it special and personal. We brought our 7yr old son and they provided a great cot bed with full sheets. He loved the fish outside! We walked to dinner and it was a wonderful location to visit SU close by. The house had a lot of beautiful antiques so just consider this with younger kids. Definitely a wonderful stay and would love to come again!

Luiz & Rhonda are “Awesome”hosts. The house was great more like a museum. Our room was really nice and quiet. Breakfast was fresh fruit on waffles with bacon, omelet, and eggs Benedict. Rhonda definitely went above and beyond making our meals gluten free. We’ll return again in the future. I highly recommend this bed & breakfast you’ll love it. |Ken & Cindy
