Giddings Public Library and Cultural Center

The Giddings Library is an absolute gem. It’s a fantastic public library with plenty of space for independent work, reading, and quiet time. The layout offers lots of options whether you’re there to focus or just relax with a book. The children’s section is especially wonderful, full of great books, Legos, small tables, and a welcoming space for kids to explore. Their weekly storytime is a big highlight and even includes a craft, which makes it extra special. They also feature local exhibits, which is such a cool way to connect the library with the community. On top of that, the events they host are always popular and incredibly well done. Amazing layout section for children to play and read. Staff are very helpful and have great services available like printing, faxing and etc. Great selection of books for all ages.

I'm bumping up my rating two stars just because of how cool one of the librarians is. The other librarian is okay, so your experience could be hit-or-miss, but one of them is really awesome! If you need to get online, ask about it at the front desk. There are power outlets against the walls (and in the floors) near the seating area. It's a nice relaxed getaway in the middle of Giddings.

First time I've ever been to the library in Giddings Texas. It is beautiful. The Librarians are so polite we went in to get some papers off of the internet so we used their computers they have a computer lab which is really nice. They also had a large collection of arrowheads, and memorabilia which I thought was really cool. The smartest thing I saw was they had a table as you walk in with all the books that are being banned. Not only was Dr Seuss books being ban, but the Bible can you believe it Our society today wants to ban the bible.. It's ridiculous the kinds of books that they're banning considering what they're teaching our children today.

The children's area has stuffed animals that are characters of children's books, along with a few other toys for little kids, and coloring pages. It's bright inside, and has lots of colorful decorations on the walls. Highlighted/advertised books are in the hallway gallery cases outside the library doors, which makes it a hassle to check them out because you need a key to open the doors. But it's a nice library for the size community that it serves.
