We had an absolutely fantastic experience at this Mediterranean restaurant! The food was bursting with flavor from start to finish. The chicken gyro and chicken kabab were incredible — juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. We started with the balloon bread for the table, paired with olive oil and seasonings, and it was the perfect intro to our meal. The falafel was another standout: moist, juicy, and a perfect blend of spices. For dessert, we tried the limoncello mascarpone cake, baklava, and almond pudding — every single one was phenomenal. We finished the night with cappuccinos and authentic Turkish coffee, and even decoded the coffee message afterward, which turned out to be so uplifting and inspirational. Everyone exuded genuine friendliness, making you feel like part of the family. They graciously present a delightful amuse-bouche of green olives infused in oil, a truly divine experience. The majestic balloon bread is a showstopper, eliciting gasps of wonder from all who lay eyes on it. Had a fantastic meal at Gal this week, enjoying the whole experience. Service was great and the food was delicious. Always love the BYOB option although they did sell wine there. The 'balloon bread' was a really great surprise too. Is definitely on our repeat list in the future. Thanks for everything Gal.

I wish I would have taken a photo of my branzino. EVERY SINGLE THING is seasoned and cooked to PERFECTION! Everyone one of the staff is a delight. We’re just visiting from FL. PLEASE consider opening a restaurant in St. Petersburg FL. The first photo is of our dinner. They also have breakfast that is $10-$20. I forgot to take pictures of it before I touched it, but the breakfast is wonderful as well. I had the menemen with kashar cheese that I asked to be topped with (tomatoes with scrambled eggs) and the merçimek (lentil soup). When I go out to eat, I want it to be as good as I can cook or better, and it truly was. I am only in NJ for 12 days, but I will be eating here 3-4 times in total. I just cannot say enough good things about this place!

The atmosphere was nice. They did a good job gutting the old Crystal Diner. The service was great! The bread which was puffed up with air and then flattens out with the olive oil dipping was good. The appetizers of stuffed grape leaves and beef pastry were good. The entrees were too dry and over cooked. My wife had the Lamb Shoulder and I had the whole Red Snapper. The desserts were the best. The Pistachio Cheesecake and the Brown Pudding were really good along with the Turkish coffee.
