G Bar and Kitchen

Delicious first trip to G in Swampscott with friends a few weeks ago. The beet salad was particularly memorable and surprising while the fall chicken dish was flavorful and well prepared. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. I would most definitely recommend a reservation and would 100% go back.

Anyone living in or visiting Swampscott would be quite delighted to eat at the exceptional G Bar Restaurant! Located quite close to Fisherman’s Beach, G Bar is lovely and formal without being fussy! Tables are laid out in a civilized manner! We did not have a reservation and the hostess was kind and accommodating! Marla, our server, was sweet and efficient! The food is marvelous! I loved my Chicken Milanese! My brother was super happy with the scallop special! My Mom had a fab looking Burrata scampi! We shared the warm berry bread pudding with Schlage! So delicious! Parking is not particularly easy but there are spaces. The restaurant had a lively bar! We will absolutely be back! A new fave in Swampscott!

As someone who cares about what I eat, G Bar & Kitchen hits that balance of flavor and quality. Chef Gregg sources local, seasonal ingredients, keeps plates clean and minimal so each bite shines. Great variety, excellent service, and food that feels elevated without being overdone. Always leaves me satisfied and ready for my next workout.

I mean this place. Never disappoints. I've always had amazing meals here. I was skeptical that this shrimp limoncello dish was going to work but man it was unbelievable. They really managed the right amount of shrimp to pasta ratio. Usually when you get these shrimp dishes they give you like four or five little shrimp and too much pasta. Not the case here. There Was plenty of shrimp. The flavor totally worked. The owner is a genius with pairing flavors.

Live music and the outside dining area are what got us in this bar and restaurant. The food was disappointing. My giant fish taco had sand in it. The seared tuna was high quality but the sand ruined the meal. My son got the bolanese pasta that was on special 7/18/25. It was nothing special and for $28 it was a rip off. I would stay away from the daily specials, and ask for the price before you order. Utensils and napkins were not brought to our table with our food and the table was sticky and not cleaned well. I will not be going back to this place.
