From Scratch Bakery & Cafe L.L.

We've visited From Scratch Bakery & Cafe a few times since they've opened and have been delighted each time. My husband absolutely loves the applesauce muffins. We've tried the cinnamon rolls, croissants, coffee cake, and the banana loaf and all were delicious. I'm looking forward to trying some soup when Tina and Dominic offer a meatless option (hint hint) as I've heard great things about them. The bakery offers gluten free options for those interested. Make sure you go early as they sell out well before closing.

You have to try this bakery. You never had a croissant until you had one from here. Absolutely delicious.

Finally had a chance to visit From Scratch Bakery this morning. I need to tell you all that I’m delighted. We had the croissants, a cinnamon roll and tasted the cream of mushroom soup so far. Kenosha, this is the bakery you didn’t know you needed. Real food, not mixes, not things that get closer and closer to the big box grocery stores. The soup is not only a fantastic texture, but the flavors are excellent, well balanced and just lovely. You have obviously had some training on those croissants because that laminated dough is gorgeous and flaky! Well done! I wish you all the success!!

Stopped in this morning at 8:30a.m. First time. Picked up a pan au chocolat as well as a Portuguese egg tart for my daughter. She generously gave me a taste of each and we both agreed that the pastries were delicious. Great texture, taste, and presentation. The bakery is very small. No frills. No seating and little standing room. Bottled water and a few drink options available for purchase. Both owner, and I believe possibly her son, were there and were very pleasant and welcoming. I would recommend the bakery to others and I would go back for a treat myself.
