Frida's Modern Mexican

Visited Frida’s with my husband during winter vacation 2025 and loved it! The place is really aesthetic, the staff is super friendly, and the food was great. We ordered Chori Pollo and drinks 🧋and they even served chips with sauce before the meal—our favorite part at any Mexican restaurant. Definitely recommend! 🫶🏼

The food was perfect, My Girlfriend and I got the Blueberry Margarita pitcher on the rocks and it was immaculate. I ordered the Chori Pollo and she ordered the Fajita Burrito. This place is a 6/5 and highly recommend

This is a brand new Mexican restaurant which opened up about a month ago (June 2025) in the west side of Athens. The restaurant is an ode to Frida Kahlo (hence the name) and the interior is adorned with beautiful murals of Frida and other art celebrating Mexican heritage. The food was delicious. It is a more elevated version of Mexican food and a good mix between portions vs size. Our food also came out quickly. The staff overall were wonderful, friendly, and accommodating. I definitely recommend a visit. You won't regret it.

Prices were decent for the amount of food you get per plate. My partner opted for the seafood burrito, it came with a side of rice and veggies. We both loved it, we were glad there was so much to take home for dinner. I went with the huevos rancheros, with a side of rice and refried beans. The spice level was perfect and I was definitely satisfied with the portion size once again. The eggs were a little over cooked but I’ll blame it on sitting outside on a 85 degree day! We each got bloody Mary’s to quench our thirst, they were rather citrusy for a Bloody Mary, which wasn’t a bad thing at all. Our only complaint would be no music sitting outside on the patio, if you’re into a quiet setting you would enjoy it. Would definitely recommend, overall we were pleasantly surprised with our experie
