Athens Public Library

We love our library! Very cool and relaxing atmosphere. The kids section is great. They always have new books and we love the book sale section. Mostly all of the librarians are very helpful and nice! There was one evening when one of the librarians was complaining about the kids section and closing time. They flickered the lights. My partner heard her openly complain about the toys not being picked up and she was being kind of rude. The other 5 children were with their mom and had come to the library because it was cold out and their power had been out all day. We cleaned up our mess in the kids section and left the library at 8:05 I’m sure the other mother and her kids left shortly after us. Not sure why the librarian was so upset because there were still people in the front room for an

Beautiful place for all your library needs.

A lovely, vibrant library with native plants in the landscaping outside and friendly, welcoming staff inside! I worked remotely here for a few days while needing to be in Athens and not only were they accommodating and helpful, but I got the bonus experience of watching the community really making good use of and enjoying this library. I was also delighted to see that with being near the bikeway they offer a wide selection of bikes for patrons to check out! A great public library experience all around!

Very quiet location sits right next to the bike path. Very friendly and helpful librarians. However, people can be really loud sometimes. The library is spacious and the area setup was very considerate by separating the little kids area and general reading/working area. However, it would be better to designated a quiet area and put signs saying "Be mindful and keep you volume down" or something of that nature, as people can be very loud having meetings and conversations.
