I love the pizza at Franzones. I would rank it in my top 5, and definitely high in that list. After moving across the country, I've been really disappointed by the lack of good pizza. When I visit PA my goal is to bring some good pizza home with me, and that pizza has been Franzones. I adore the sweet-leaning tomato sauce with extra cheese (pictured). I am also impressed with the old fashioned white pizza with onions. Sooo much cheese (also pictured)!
I ordered a large pizza on line. I arrived about 10 minutes early. Pizza was ready in about 3 minutes. Took it home about a 30 minute drive. Pizza cooled down quite a bit but we expected that. Still delicious. Really enjoyed the sweet sauce. Next time we’ll add either sausage or extra cheese and see how that tastes.
The cheese steak was one of the best I've ever had. I will be going back for more. This family owned pizza place has a great neighborhood vibe to it. The staff was friendly and helpful. You can tell the pizza was made with fresh ingredients but the sauce was what I'm finding to be typical in the Philadelphia area, sweet. A sweet pizza sauce isn't for me. Still the cheese steak was phenomenal and I look forward to trying more from their menu.
Objectively a good pizza. Just not my preferred style. Very sweet sauce almost sugary. Very soft crust that flops. Lots of sauce and good amount of cheese. Cuts were a little wonky but that doesn’t change how it tastes.
Picked up 3 pizzas a salad and a calzone. Pizza crust was too thin and overdone. Cheese tastes as if it’s mixed with cheddar. Cheddar on pizza is not Philly pizza. The salad lettuce was not chopped or shredded. It was hacked into very large elephant ears making it sloppy to cut and mix in your small plastic container. The uncut thick slices of large beefsteak tomatoes are meant to be served at a restaurant with a tomahawk steak! Com’on guys, you can do better.
