The best BBQ restaurants are the small local joints, and this one is just that. I stopped in for a needed break from riding, and I was greeted with a smile and warm welcome. I ordered the brisket sandwich and a side of slaw. It was a beautiful day and chose to eat outside. There are five large picnic tables which were clean. There is a standing shelf against the building if you prefer to stand. There is one table inside. The sandwich and slaw was brought to me outside and my first thought was “will I be able to zip my riding jacket after eating this?” There is a generous portion of brisket and it comes with four homemade pickle slices and a small container of slaw on the side for the sandwich. Sorry, I downed a pickle and poured the slaw on the sandwich before thinking about a picture for

Good BBQ is hard to find in the north but this one of those hidden gems that would fit right in a small town in Texas. Sandwiches were tasty. Sauces were good. Baked beans were delicious. Just need hand battered onion rings and fried okra. Lol. We will certainly be back.

I don’t post a lot of reviews and I’m usually let down by random BBQ joints that aren’t located in Texas. I’m not saying this is TX BBQ but, excellent meat, excellent portions, excellent price. If you’re looking around at reviews trying to decide just stop and eat here.

There are only 2-3 parking spots right by the shack, but I believe you can park in the lot behind the shack as well. Inside is an ordering counter with chalkboard menu in front of it, along with 2 medium sized tables and a short stretch of overhang along the wall. On a good weather day, there's a picnic table outside. Bottom line, not too many places to sit on a busy day. I ordered from the menu from their website which has "The Smokestack" for $12 (not listed on the chalkboard menu). I had thought it w

This was our 1st time visiting other than the fries being a little too salty everything else good. We tried the number 4 jack and jill we cut the brisket and pulled pork sandwich in half so we could try both meats. Our dog even enjoyed some of the meat.
