Fish Hut Grill

Great new spot for seafood! We enjoyed fish bites and blackened grouper over rice. We sat at the bar, where the friendly staff made us feel like old friends. Parking was a challenge- in mid March - so we’re not sure how it will be as summer approaches. Nevertheless we look forward to a return visit and trying more of the enticing food and drink options.

The line here has been 30+ people deep our first two nights on Emerald Isle, NC. Today there was no line so we turned around and stopped in for their seafood and it didn't disappoint. The Onion Rings were deliciously sweet with thin breading. Our two dishes were Soft Shell Crab and Sea Scallops on a bed of Ceasar Salad and both excellent!

The food and drinks are very tasty, but $8 tacos are still pretty extra. There is always a long line, but usually bar seating open if you want to skip that, plus they will bring you drinks in line. It’s not like there are many taco options on the island, which is why I guess they can get away with charging the same for two street tacos that you’d usually spend for three tacos and sides. The drinks are pretty delicious, though.

If you’re visiting Emerald Isle, Fish Hut Grill should be one of your stops (it’s worth the wait if there’s a line!). With a variety of quick dishes, our party of 6 had delicious options. Service was quick, and the grilled fish tacos and grouper sandwiches were outstanding; both had generous portions of fish. The beach casual atmosphere added to the ambiance. Though we didn’t partake, the mixed drinks leaving the bar looked great too. Back again in 2025 (twice) and had additional great meals and experiences!

Delicious food and fast service! I visited Fish Hut Grill recently and was honestly impressed! The food was absolutely delicious — the fried fish was perfectly crispy and flavorful, the coleslaw was fresh and tasty, and the onion rings were a great touch. The service was surprisingly fast, especially considering how busy it was. The only downside was the lack of air conditioning. It was quite hot inside, but I understand that it’s part of the beachside, outdoor vibe. Just be prepared for the heat if you’re visiting during a warm day. Overall, great experience and I would definitely come back. Highly recommend for anyone craving fresh, beachside seafood!
