The place itself is awesome. Fast service and a great atmosphere. The ice cream selection was excellent and tasted delicious. It’s really nice that they offer soft and hard ice cream options! The ONE minor complaint I would have is that at the end of each of our party’s cones there was a small Marshmallow. This got soggy and slimy and we didn’t know it was there, so it kind of made us all feel like something nasty was in our cone. Kind of funny in hindsight but not at the time. Overall it was a great experience and we will be back. Just watch out for the marshmallow surprise!
We stopped by Faye's Ice Cream Parlor in New Cumberland on Bridge Street after a fun round of miniature golf, and it was absolutely worth it. The locally made ice cream was super delicious and you can truly taste the difference in quality and ingredients. For years, I thought all ice cream places were the same, but Fay's really stands out with its retro charm and top-notch flavors. Highly recommend stopping by if you're craving a classic ice cream experience that’s a cut above the rest.
Update: This shop has new owners. While they kept the retro feel they did clear out a few things in order to make the shop look bigger. I added a few new pictures to this review. They expanded their selections of ice cream to include some more modern flavors such as teaberry. Cute shop with great ice cream and a retro look. They make the best milkshakes this side of the Farm Show. I really love it here. It's a real community gathering, and the owners are wonderful. Drop in, you won't be sorry.
Really retro and cool vibe. Flavors are good too. Ube brownie was surprisingly good. The ice cream is heavy but tasty. Definitely great to stop by if traveling through.
The atmosphere is spacious and has a cute retro theme. Servers are nice. Ice cream was good. I really loved the S'mores flavor but did not enjoy the Appalachian Trail flavor at all. It was supposed to be cold brew coffee ice cream with toffee bits and fudge swirl but tasted like a death by chocolate or a double chocolate flavor instead. I don’t know if this was a mistake when it was made and just too much fudge accidentally went into the batch and totally overpowered the other flavors or what. I did not taste the coffee at all, which was a disappointment. I would go back and try other flavors or return for the S'mores, for sure though.
