Fathoms Waterfront Bar & Grille

This place became one of my new favorite restaurants for New Bedford. This cozy restaurant right on the water on fish island was fantastic. The food the service the location the atmosphere alllllllllll 10 star 🌟 quality. I got the Blackened Salmon Dusted with Cajun seasonings, finished with a roasted red pepper jam with Asparagus and mashed potatoes 🥔 😋 and all the food was of great quality and cooked to perfection. My bartender Tom did a awesome job. I give this place 10 stars 🌟 I woke up this morning still thinking about how good my meal was last night. The butterball bread 🍞 and butter Red wine 🍷 was also very delicious. I would highly highly recommend this place to anyone and i cant wait to come back again sometime soon. The food and service are always great at Fathoms and they don't disappoint. Hands down they have the best lobster bisque in the area! Their sushi is wonderful and always fresh. They make an excellent stuffed sole and their salmon dishes are always amongst my favorites. They offer a kids menu and fish and chips is included on that, which is always nice to see because not all restaurants in the area offer that option for kids. Wait staff and bartenders are very attentive, you won't sit around thinking that you've been forgotten. This is becoming one of my favorite restaurants in the area!!

Mom and I went today. It’s a nice large space. The staff was really friendly. Mom had sautéed lobster in a cherry sauce with mashed potatoes and asparagus.. The steamers were really good. You could taste and see garlic, hot pepper flakes tons of flavor in the broth could use a little more clams ! lol I had a lobster roll with a nice toasted bun. You’re able to get two sides with that as well fries and coleslaw. They have a fish market right next-door. Lots of great fresh seafood. The prices are unbelievable. It was worth a trip from Milton. I didn’t have any drinks, but I love a martini and they have large glasses for the martinis. They also had steamed lobster on the menu. The menu is pretty expansive.

I wish I could give a higher rating for the food, but sadly I cannot. Had the scallops and clam dinner with broccoli. Broccoli was cold. Seriously only had 5 scallops and a kid size portion of clams. They were just ok as the scallops were gummy. Also had the swordfish...very small portiion and the asparagus was burnt. Very busy place that seems to put making $$ over quality. Was super excited to try this place and was really disappointed.

Went dinner and got the worst meal. Once she brought over my slop she never came back. We had another very nice young lady bring take our plates and asked us if we needed boxes. I noticed someone at the bar got the same meal as I did and it looked really good, which was very odd and even more disappointing. I gave it two star because our app was good, my husbands food was good and the other lady was nice. We used to go there all the time and never had such a bad experience. Not sure we will be going back.
