Far East Chinese Restaurant

With the wide spread power outage causing all of Tuolumne County to be without power; we decided to head to Angels Camp for dinner. Far East has been one of my favorite Chinese spots since I moved to the area. We used to get the lunch specials at work when I worked down the road from here. We were greeted and seated as soon as we arrived. The staff is always so friendly and attentive. They weren't too busy when we arrived. We opted into getting the personal dinner which includes the soup of the day, the appetizer of the day & pork fried rice and whichever entrée you chose. The soup of the day was Hot & Sour and the appetizer of the day was spring rolls. My boyfriend got the honey walnut prawns & I chose the broccoli beef and we also got an order of pot stickers. Generous portions, rich flavor, and attentive service. However the dishes were a little on the oily side for how I like my Chinese food. This places looks like it is a locals favorite for Chinese food though. We enjoyed dishes from the lunch menu which was fairly priced.

The food tasted pretty good, but we ordered 2 entrees and when the food was delivered there was no rice. I called the restaurant to ask about this. They asked for my phone number, which was given when I placed the order, and after I repeated it three times, they said let me check, then hung up. Never heard from them again.

We recently ate at the Far East and a marvelous experience. We had the sizzling chicken rice soup and chicken with fresh vegetables and mushrooms. Both dishes surpassed our expectations. We highly recommend the Far East the cook their has no rivals.

The best Asian restaurant in the area. Reasonable prices, adequate service that could be improved to be faster and more attentive considering it is not a busy place. The food is very good, fresh and tasty!
