This is my favorite place for roast duck, roast pork, and cha siu. The flavors here are spot on! The roast duck is always so juicy and tender. The skin on the roast pork is always super crunchy, with just the right amount of fattiness underneath. And when you get a good piece of cha siu that melts in your mouth, it’s heaven. Pair with white rice for the ultimate comfort meal. Seating inside is small, but they’re a very good option for takeout. Eat the roast pork immediately though for the maximum crunch. I read some positive feedback about Famous Kitchen in the past. While I was in Issaquah, I decided to dine there. The place looked new-ish in a small plaza; several other restaurants are within sight. I yelp-checked every single one of them. All of them hover at about 3.5 stars, plus/minus some. Hmmm. Anyway, I kept the original plans and entered. They have a Chinese BBQ area that was being cleaned for the night, which makes sense. It was nearly 7pm on a Sunday. The menu had mostly ordinary Cantonese varieties with several less common ingredients like fermented bean curd, salted fish, and bitter melon. Always a good sign. When I fished recommendations from the server requesting good ‘uncommon’ dishes (and I spoke in Cantonese), he still pointed to the ‘normal’ dish. Fine, I stayed along th
We came here for the first time for lunch today (Sunday) waiting for my daughter’s urgent care appointment and were seated by the door. We (a table of 3) asked to move to one of the bigger tables away from the door as my daughter wasn’t feeling well and she said it was a busy day and that they needed to save the bigger tables for more customers which makes total sense 𝙀𝙓𝘾𝙀𝙋𝙏 by the time we left, the restaurant was still empty and they let someone else with just 3 people sit at the table we had previously asked for 🤔 so the logic didn’t make sense and to top it off, we were never brought any water or tea either. As for the food, we ordered congee, beef brisket noodles and Chinese donut. The price was higher than what I’ve had at other places (ie Mike’s Noodle House, Diamond Bay, Macky’s Di
A great restaurant for the area. Thank you to the owners for brining this style of Chinese BBQ. I'm from the birthplace of American Chinese BBQ cuisine (San Francisco) so there's a lot of scrutiny . The food here warmed my heart since it reminds me of the food I grew up with. Try the Royal Chicken. It's moist and tender. Dip in the traditional oil/ginger/scallion sauce for the full experience. Also order the roast duck. If you are looking for a full and happy belly, here's the place at the restaurant or take out for home. As an American, you will also find the food here familiar and well prepared. The service is quick and courteous. The restaurant is a typical fast food restaurant, but with the family experience.
First time to Famous Kitchen, hunger level 3 out 5. Wanted something good -found it. Kitchen able to do a Mongolian chicken. Spicy is on target and flavorful. I like heat/spice and it did just right. Use to having broccoli with dish but the fried noodles were okay. Rice was perfect, curious if they offer brown. Ordered at the counter for dine in. Fast and efficient staff and food came out hot. Awesome, will be back for more sampling of the menu.
