I’m thrilled to give the highest rating to F Rozzo and sons. They are always so knowledgeable and honest and professional. It has been a fabulous asset to Chelsea to have them now in the retail business! Their fish, soft shell crabs, shrimp and scallops are the best…and the most wonderful fishmonger is Matt! Thanks FRozzo and sons.
There are no words to fairly describe this place. The owner Luis and his son Jr., Matt, Alicea, are simply the nicest, hardest working, knowledgeable and friendly people that you will ever meet. The fish is the freshest you can buy. Better than the greenmarket, because it is always kept very cold and impeccably clean. I am so spoiled now I cannot order fish in restaurants because what I buy at Rozzo tastes better! All I can say is this is the real deal, a 5 generation family business, run with pride and integrity. I thank them every time I come for keeping a tradition alive that is so quickly vanishing from our city. Keep up the great work and thank you again!
Finding this source for fresh fish was one of the best things that happened to me this year! Recently I picked up fresh tuna in the Grand Central marketplace for convenience & was stunned by the difference in quality of the tuna I get weekly at Rozzo's. Huge difference. Prices are fair, variety is wide & Matt's service is superb.
How have I lived so close to this and never been until now? My go-to for seafood has always been Whole Foods but recently when I went there and they had run out of clams, I decided to try this place. Admittedly it has an odd looking, unappealing aesthetic to be blunt, sorry. It's a sparse empty space with nothing designed, nothing on the walls, no furniture, nothing but the basic equipement and with some stands of seafood on ice in the middle of the room. Even the prices are handwritten on a board. But I was pleasantly surprised by the selection and prices. And as I type this, I have just finished eating what I cooked up from buying there. So I can attest to the quality of seafood. I'm never going to Whole Foods again.
This place is just magnificent, fresh quality fish and a service like no other ! Matt is the guy behind the counter who helped me out and he was just phenomenal ! I must have asked him over 50 questions and he answered every single question while giving me a little fact about the fish or where its from. Overall great experience, as someone who has social anxiety I found this interaction very helpful, encouraging me to come back and keep engaging and buying fish ! Thank you to Rozzo and sons for the great fish ! and thank you Matt for being kind and patient while providing great service. GO CHECK THEM OUT !!!!!
