Essex Library Association

This is a small but lovely library. When I walk in I feel as if I'm home. The librarians are so helpful and friendly My library is a cool quiet oasis now that the weather is getting warm. So many books!! So little time 😊

One of two libraries in town, the Essex Library is another great resource as the Ivoryton Library. Gone are the days of stuffy librarian stereotypes. Here you’ll find friendly, upbeat and outgoing staff eager to assist. I needed to get copies of music that were only available at the Hartt Performance Library. I did my homework first by calling Hartt and their librarian confirmed that they had the parts and how I should go about requesting them through my local library. When I approached the Essex Library and asked about how I could use the “inter-library system” to get some music, they didn’t flinch. They quickly and easily explained how to fill out a form and what would happen next. Thanks to my diligence, I had all the information at hand to fill out the form right there. Getting

The Library is awesome . I go in their to get DVD's and they all ways have Great DVD's and if they don't have the one that you want they call another Library to see if the have it and if they do than I will get it they will put it on hold for you or anybody that wants it but you can't put it in the drop off box because the other place it came from does't want it to go their.They have Stuff for people to sign up for and they also have book sales for all ages and it's fun

It's a great place for children as well as adults to read and more! From the wide selection of books to the story-based programs, this is one of my favorite places!

Here's a well arranged and supplied library with helpful and knowledgeable staff who want to help. They'll even help you figure out how to check out Kindle books for your device. Everything a local library should be.
