I haven't even been here yet, and I already know that I'm going to have a five-star experience. The Pittsburgh poetry exchange moved its open mic night from the south side to this spot. Carrick is the perfect place for gritty, real, blood and guts poetry. I can't wait to actually check the venue out in February and give more than just a pipe dream review.
Beautiful book store, positive vibes, World Peace through art, education and understanding — and good coffee to boot!! The owner is kind and engaging author in his own right, a lovely, quiet and supportive space for lovers and readers and musicians alike : two TUNED pianos, multiple guitars to pick up and strum at anytime. Get connected here : and be impressed!💖 🌈 We left our mark in humble Pittsburgh, and Emma Lazarus, that perfect symbol of ac

akin to an old school barbershop, where voices chime in in a friendly manner, talking about...whatever. its like the guy in high school with the finished basement family room where you'd linger with friends for hours. except you are older, and still finding it a judgement free zone. yes, there is music. no rules - play what you want, how you want, either with someone, or show off if you must with that solo you perfected over the weekend! this used to be the long time Caruso's Music - the sign from that business remains there in the basement! ah, the ghosts of yesteryear... but spirits of today also reside there. its a small group, generally, and a good opportunity to get in time playin in sync with others, or asking for opinions on a piece, or just learning basics of guitar, piano, or
This is Pittsburghs best kept secret! Highly recommended for anyone who loves music, playing it and listening to. A great community and budding network of musicians, entrepreneurs, writers, etc.. i really love the open mic on Friday nights!
