El Salto Mexican Restaurant

My wife has a severe dairy allergy. She ordered door dash, put on the order no cheese or sour cream. She then called them and informed them she just placed the order and wanted to double down on informing them of her allergy. They told her they see the order as it came through and they will inform the cooks. The food arrives and there is sour cream and cheese. I notified the Mgr again and he stated, "I'll talk to the cooks".

The food is consistent and the prices are reasonable considering the unnecessary economic damage done by the last administration. The service was great and the atmosphere is spot on. The dining room was clean, our table was clean. It's obvious they make their own tortilla chips, which are fresh and very good. The salsa is delicious, with only a slight kick, not horrendously spicy but, could use a bit less cilantro, as it almost overpowers the other flavors of the salsa. I had the Molcajete. I love the Molcajete. I always order the Molcajete because it's this wonderful blend of steak and shrimp with rice and beans and a bit of cheese. It comes with this giant pepper that scares me because it looks hot as hell but, I'll have to get brave the next time I go there and see exactly what it is.

Very long time customer (since ridge road days) and I will not put details in my review because I’d hate to see them fail. But trust me when I tell you we won’t be back. Horrible service the last 2 times I went. I probably go there once or twice a month and time to move on!

I was told it's a newly open location now it's one of my top three favorites of Northwest Indiana restaurants their portions are fantastic drinks are spectacular and caused a great conversation between us for their creative glasses service was done with smiles and appreciation the menu is budget friendly and reasonable for top end meals El salto's restaurants are definite yes for lunch dinner or take home it's placed in a new strip mall it has very clean table floors washroom facilities this was a 100% positive experience for our group not one thing we could complain about at all not that we wanted to enjoy
