El Mezcal

The food was better than I expected. I ordered the birria tacos and they were pretty decent. The red salsa was spicy and flavorful and I was pleasantly surprised they serve their tacos with radishes and cucumbers (the authentic way tacos are served) The margaritas were not great. My partner ordered their only mezcal drink and all you could taste was the artificial watermelon. I ordered the diablo margarita which was better but that’s not saying much. The service could improve. Our server kept rushing us to order even though we told him it was our first time there and needed more time to look over the menu. When we got our food the server asked if we wanted anything else and my partner ordered a beer. The server clearly forgot about it and didn’t bring it to him until we were almost finishe

One of my favorite restaurants in Roanoke! The food is FANTASTIC. If you care for shrimp, they have the best arroz con camerones. Trust me.

I had an amazing experience at El Mezcal. The food came out hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. Every bite tasted like it was made with care and attention to detail. As someone who lives along the border with Mexico and is used to eating authentic Mexican food regularly, I can honestly say El Mezcal exceeded my expectations. The flavors were rich and traditional. It’s clear they take pride in their cooking, and it truly shows. I’ll definitely be coming back — highly recommended for anyone craving real Mexican food done right!

I love Mexican foods of all kinds. The spicier 🌶️the better. I also love new places. El Mezcal was a great find for quite a few reasons. 1. They clearly make their own salsa. It is delicious and with just enough heat. 2. The portions were way more than I expected but Yum! 3. We got a birthday cinnamon crispy thing with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle! 4. Great variety on the menu. 5. An extensive adult beverage menu as well. 6. Great, outdoor and indoor seating. 7. Very clean bathrooms. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a great lunch.!
