I came to El Jefe for trivia night and despite how busy it was our server Cam showed up to our table quickly and took our order. Throughout our meal she was very friendly and kind and made sure we were good and got us refills. She always kept a positive attitude when coming to our table. Great service!

I usually love coming to this place as a CofC student, and me and my friends have always raved about it, but something has truly changed here. I don’t know what’s wrong, but they’ve tanked. We got seated pretty quickly, but our server (named Bella) was completely rude off the bat. She got our drinks and then when taking our order, seemed as if she had better things to do and didn’t want to stand there a second longer. When asking about the food, because my friend was a little confused and needed some guidance on what to get, Bella used a rude tone and seemingly mocked her with pet names. We thought “ok, maybe she’s just having a bad day”, I mean I get it, I’m a server myself. But, it was still rude. However, when I opened my utensils, it was dirty (picture included). A visible food stain

The waitress was super nice. The food was ok. I've never seen grilled chicken in tortilla soup but it was tasty enough. Usually, it's pulled. The soup was just warm though. Here's what got me. The menu read that a shot of tequila was $4 so I ordered one. For some reason, that's only available if one has already another drink. Long story short, I paid $12 for the shot and I didn't make a fuss only because I was with company. I think it's cheesy to switch prices with a lame excuse. You know liquor is where the money is made so one bottle of liquor will make hundreds of dollars in profit. It was loud and empty but I get that it's the way you get young people to come in and drink. No issues there but so you know.

We had such a great experience thanks to our waitress Gracie! She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we sat down. Our drinks were always full, the food came out perfectly, and she checked in just the right amount without ever feeling intrusive. Her positive attitude and professionalism really elevated our experience. We’ll definitely be back—and hope to be lucky enough to have her as our server again!

Came here on a whim as I was walking by. I was shocked to find during dinner time I was the only one in the restaurant. Throughout the entire time I was there, no one came. I thought this was a bit odd for 6:30PM. I was seated promptly and served quickly. It wasn’t anything spectacular but it was okay. The server was really nice. Very expensive for Tacos. The price was higher than the menus posted online. $25 is a lot for three tacos and a coke. it’s a bit jarring to go to a Mexican restaurant, even a texmex place, that has a mechanical bull and plays country music. It’s pretty loud.
