El Gordo Mexican Grill Prescott Valley

We shared a pizza barillia and it was amazing!!! It came with 2 roasted peppers and a plate of glazed fried onions. The dipping sauce reminded me of the flavors on menudo- it was so good! We also tried 3 flavors of chirros, vanilla strawberry and Carmel!!! They were cream filled and so good!! Will be back!

I’ve been coming here for about a year now, and this is hands-down the best Mexican food I’ve experienced in Prescott / Prescott Valley. Every plate is fresh, flavorful, and made with love. The street tacos are always a 10/10 — juicy, perfectly seasoned meat, fresh onions, cilantro, and warm tortillas… so good. And the salsa?? Life-changing. One thing I absolutely love is the atmosphere. Hearing the cooks in the back sing while cooking truly brings out such a positive, happy vibe to the whole experience. It feels genuine, warm, and like you’re eating somewhere that takes pride in both their food and their culture. If you want real, quality Mexican food, this is the spot. Consistent, authentic, and always hits the craving. El Gordo has my heart and low-key most of my money at this point 😂

Normally the food has been great but the past couple of times, not so much. I usually get a bean and cheese tostada and a chicken taco and the tostada is usually heavy due to the amount of beans on there but tonight there were basically no beans on there and hardly any cheese. I paid $5.00 for lettuce and an overcooked shell. I have a gluten allergy and there's a lot on the menu that I can't order due to that. I've been ordering from the Prescott Valley location for years and generally haven't had an issue. Also, when I called to order and I asked if the cooks could put clean gloves on when preparing my food ( so that I didn't get sick from cross contamination) the gal that was taking my order hung up on me and when I called back I got someone different. This is one of my favorite places when I’m craving fast food. The Quesabirria tacos and Birria Ramen are the best! So are the Toritos (I think that’s what they’re called). I would eat there more often if the parking situation was better. That’s literally my only complaint. There’s limited parking spaces, and I drive a small SUV which is difficult driving around the building to leave. The food is worth the parking anxiety though.

Loved this place everything was amazing! Waitress was super hospitable and very attentive. V The food came out fairly quick and was Extraordinary! The taste was awesome, we got the molcajete, and the shrimp plate. Everything was so good. We will be back!
