El Charro Loco

I wanted something different from my typical Mexican restaurant order. No tacos or burritos today. I ordered the pina loca. Which is a pineapple cut in half in grilled then stuffed with steak, chicken, red and green bell peppers and onions. Topped with queso and crema. And I also ordered the chicken molé plate to go. From a presentation stand point, the Pina loca looked ok. But it didn't taste very good. The beef and chicken were both tender. But the chicken was flavorless. And there was very little, if any additional seasonings added to this dish. It probably would have tasted better with adobada pork. The beans were average at best, and the rice tasted good. But they put melted cheese on top of the rice, which makes no sense to me. The chicken molé was slightly spicy, but it also carried

Truly authentic Mexican taste! A jewel in a remote location. We enjoyed the kind service of the server and the generous portions of Enchiladas Suizas and the Steak burrito with rice and beans. Everything was so delicious!

Food was fantastic. A little more than typical cost but the portions were huge! The food tasted amazing. Great spot. Safe place to stop on your way through 100%!

The server was nice, but the food qas just average in my opinion. Ordered chiles toreados and they were barely cooked. Also, I personally didn't care for the salsa flavor.

Loses one star for the high price tag. I've eaten tons of Mexican food and at much more upscale places; this place is expensive. But otherwise everything was very good. The restaurant itself is bright and clean, lots of seating. There were lots of vegetarian options on the menu, which is often difficult for me to find so I didn't mind paying that tab to have this option. Decent portion sizes.
