El Cerro Azul

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Powhatan. We have been several times and never had a bad experience. The staff is friendly and the food comes out quick. We come here at least twice a month. We always leave full and have plenty of left overs for lunch the next day.

I had the queso-birrria and the meat was so tender, the consume was savory, and the spicy tomatilla salsa had the perfect balance of heat and acid. The tortillas tasted fresh and were fried to perfection.

We went early enough to be seated right away. Chips and salsa were delivered right before we sat down and service was prompt. Portion sizes did not leave us wanting for more. The Powhatan Quesadilla was stuffed!

The restaurant has recently been refreshed with new tables, chairs and booths, which was a welcome update. The food is always good here and our recent trip was as expected. The menu is full of authentic dishes. The wait staff is exceptional-every time we go, we are treated to great services with friendly, smiling staff. You can't go wrong with dinner at El Cerro!

This hidden jewel definitely exceeded my expectations! The food came out fast and very delicious. The customer service was outstanding! Definitely can't wait to return and try other items on their menu.
