El Agave

The BEST Mexican food in Pickens and Easley! Clean bathrooms/restaurant. Excellent service. Fresh and flavorful food with a wide variety of choices. Also highly recommend the desserts.

I ate here for the first time today and was highly impressed. The skinny margaritas had fresh squeezed juice in them and tasted great and not too sweet. The shrimp ceviche was really fresh and had the perfect amount of balance. The Mexican guac was fantastic and probably our favorite thing overall. We will definitely be back to try more.

This was the second time I've eaten at El Agave. I took my daughter and a granddaughter to dinner. They both agreed with me. This is a fantastic place to get Mexican food. Not only does the food taste wonderful, but it is beautifully plated. I especially wanted my girls to sample a desert. We each ordered a different item, and after the first bite, each said it was the best they had ever tasted. My granddaughter called her husband to tell him about El Agave. "They have the same thing we usually get at the other place and it's two dollars cheaper," I heard her say. The mixed drinks are well made (you can taste the main ingredient). You owe it to yourself to check El Agave out.

My girlfriend and I stopped by after a pretty epic hike. She usually tasks me with finding a restaurant on the way back home and wants to know the reviews. We came across a review left by the insufferable Donna. Donna criticized the wonderful staff of El Agave for "not being able to speak English." Well, after reading Donna's review, I was astounded as she couldn't have been more wrong. Donna, I hope you read this. You are a mean person. How dare you criticize anyone's English when your own lack of mastery of the language is out there for all to see. I award you zero points, Donna. But I have bought you a lifetime subscription to Rosetta Stone so you can learn more English. You need it. To the wonderful staff of El Agave, thank you so much for such friendly service and simply amazing food

The wait staff was nice enough and we had no service complaints. The restaurant is a bit old, but it was relatively clean. Unfortunately, the food was not phenomenal. The chips are definitely not made in house and the house salsa was very watery. The rojo sauce was pretty bland and the stuffed chili pepper looked pretty black. Much of the food seems to be likely frozen and reheated at some point. The rice was the best part and we really liked it. The prices were pretty good, but they also charge a 4% fee if you use a credit card. Overall, this place is okay, but I would probably skip it.
