Egg Shack

Small, almost ramshackle appearance on exterior. Clean, small, intimate on the interior. Place was for the locals & another person I met in passing suggested it. Fast service, the place was clean as staff were immediately in action after anyone left a table, and the food was well seasoned. I ordered chopped steak (medium well). It came with two eggs, hash browns, two pancakes. Only complaint was chopped steak was a tad bit tough & pancakes were a tad bit stiff. Dish came out with steak sauce; I appreciated that. Sat behind four Calumet Park cops talking do's/don'ts & strategy upon encountering a situation. That was interesting to hear.

The customer service here is amazing, it was our first time and they were so patient with us plus the service was so fast!! The food is AMAZING & the vibes are great in here! If your in the area go visit them

Here for breakfast, ample parking. Older building doesn’t look like much from outside, same on the inside. Looks clean, food is excellent. Great selection, served quickly. I would come back. Reasonable prices.

I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was nice n crispy; the Imperial coffee was really good. A pleasant change from folgers so the food was really good. Been wanting to hit this joint up for years every time I take a ride to the heights. There's not too many of these breakfast joints left; so support this business. I would love to sit at a counter facing the kitchen to really have that old-school diner feel!
