Customer Reviews
Definitely a location with some of the best views in Jackson NH. But, it pains me to say, the food was not what you'd expect when you walk in and see how beautiful their dining room is. Amen for exceptional service. And when asked if my meal was okay, I did not have the heart to tell the lovely waitress that it falls very short and the chief should be embarrassed to serve the cut of meat that he did, presenting it as a rib eye. And a rib eye at $42.00. The taste and texture was that of chuck and flavor very salt forward from either the gravy or whatever was used for a tenderizer. And way too much fat for the price tag . Also, come on, who puts gravy on a $42.00 rib eye. The specialty drink was just okay but not artisan worthy. The best part of the meal was definitely the dessert. My glass
Unfortunately the food just wasn't very good, which is a shame because the service was good and the atmosphere was comfortable. We got the French onion soup and lobster bisque to start. Onion soup was actually good, but the bisque wasn't what I'd call bisque; it had one small piece of lobster. (In fact the table next to us got the lobster ravioli and the cream sauce on it looked a lot like my bisque.) For entrees we got lamb shank and short rib. Unfortunately both meats were dry and bland, and the accompanying veggies, gravy, and mashed potatoes were unremarkable. My wife sent back the lamb shank and, to the manager's credit, they comped it for us and she got fish & chips instead, which was fine (fries were crispy!). The meat entrees just didn't feel worth $38, and the whole meal didn't fe
This review is being left after contacting the restaurant and making them aware of our experience with absolutely zero effort on their part to bring any resolution. I would steer clear of Eagle Landing. We had a 6:15 reservation. When we arrived we were sat promptly. Once seated it took 15 minutes for us to be acknowledged by the waitstaff. After receiving our drinks, there was another long pause before our food order was taken. The appetizer arrived and was fine. Then the long wait started again. My wife had ordered mac and cheese with a salad and I had ordered the lobster ravioli. When my ravioli arrived it looked like it had been under a heat lamp for way too long and was quite tough. My wife’s Mac and cheese arrived before her salad. Drink refills, not without asking. Again, this was
The veranda at the Eagle Landing Tavern has one of the best settings for a romatic lunch or dinner in all of the White Mountains! The food is good, the prices reasonable and the service generally excellent. We did have a bit of a hiccup in dinner service while dining there the first time, but the restaurant manager and staff, includig Zara at the hotel front desk, couldn't have done more to apologize and make the situation right. Looking forward to returning again soon!
Wonderful atmosphere and great food. Fun to sit out on the veranda with fantastic drinks. A terrific summer spot.
