Dumpling Garden (Saugus)

This is one of my favorite places to go after work. I usually get out late and they’re one of the few places open so late that isn’t fast food. Their spicy salmon is actually spicy and I love it! Staff are very kind, I think they have fair prices. I’ve never eaten in but usually order pickup through Toasttab. A worker there told me they’re open every day until 12am usually. Trust, I will keep coming back. (Their gyoza and maki rolls are spectacular). Thank you Dumpling Garden!

This review is solely based on their Wonton soup. It was the worst I ever had. Super dark yellow broth, yet somehow still bland. All it had in it was about 5 small wontons some tiny bits of minced cabbage and carrots, and bean sprouts. $12 just to have a handful of tiny wontons floating in bland water. Absolutely disappointing and value is definitely not there for the price. I will say the staff were super friendly - but they need to revamp this soup or take it off the menu.

I have done Uber eats and picking up food from here always smelled delicious. We ended up getting 2 bento boxes and an order of lo mein(not pictured). The bento boxes were not the best but came with a soup salad and a roll. The lo mein looked and tasted more fresh than the bento box. The popsticker wasn’t cooked great looked stale. The white rice was cold and the protein that was given was alright not the best. Kinda seems like made to order stuff is better suited for them.

Hate to leave a less than great review - but the dumpling recipe has changed within the last year or so. The old ones were round, delicious and packed with flavor. These ones (photo) look like store bought ones and taste like mediocre ones. Wonder what changed or happened for this change but I don't think we can return to this place until the recipe reverts back to the winner it once was. Can't comment on the other food items but the service and staff are excellent.

Food is good for the most part. Ordered delivery service from the restaurant (directly) and the delivery driver was extremely rude. He refused to leave his car , had to come out in cold/wet weather. The driver opened his window and refused to give the receipt. I had to almost rip the bag from him , not sure what was going on. Better off ordering through another delivery service.
