Downtown City Tavern

Wicked cool place. We were up from Colonie checking out some stuff. Went on 518 foodies on Facebook and found this place. It didn't disappoint. Good food, good drink excellent waitress. We'll go back when we're in town.

Pizza and wings were great! Good flavor from wood fired oven. Wings a bit charred but still good. Good selection of microbrews. Service was a little slow. Really enjoyed the pizza

A friend told us about this place and we loved it! The food was excellent, good beer selection and great service! We only got appetizers and they were awesome. Chicken tenders are yummy! So are the wings and fries. I will be back! Oh and just a good old milkshake rocked!

Overall good food with some opportunities to go from good to excellent. The wood fire soft pretzels were very good and well baked with 2 options odd sauces. The woods fire margarita needed more cheese and a bit better seasoned tomato sauce. Finally the tandoory chicken could use a bit of balance in the gyro to give it a heartier taste.

We enjoyed a great Sunday night dinner. The restaurant was busy, but we were able to be seated right away. Buffalo chicken dip with pita dippers was excellent - lots of crispy melted cheese on top and creamy dip underneath. Highly recommend! I ordered the Tiramisu boozy milkshake - sooo good and huge, had to decide between finishing that or my meal. My husband and I split the beef Shawarma and the Smokehouse Burger. Both excellent. Not a lot of restaurants are open in the area on Sundays. Definitely recommend stopping here next time you are looking for one as we were. ETA: I thought this local favorite could do with an updated review. We visited recently and enjoyed some new menu items. Buffalo Bombs were absolutely perfectly cooked!
