Dos Burros

Dos Burros just recently opened this week, and our family went to try it out! The restaurant was cozy and lovely, with nice dove and wood colored interior and warm yellow lights. We've already been to Hero Ranch and Flowers, which are owned by the same owner, and this place definitely didn't disappoint! The staffs were very welcoming and helpful, and of course, the food was absolutely amazing. The Mexican scent and rich flavor were nicely blended in all dishes, the ceviche sampler was our favorite. We'll definitely come back soon!!

The food was great. Cocktails too. HRK is still better. This place is rather new so, we expect it to get much better once the kitchen settles. They brought all the starters at once so, some of them got cold. That was our fault, it is better to tell them to pace them out. And they also brought some of the entrees first and others later which shows the kitchen is still a little disorganized. They will get better. I'd still recommend it, specially if you are into modern Mexican cuisine.

We arrived for dinner with a party of 5. They surprisingly put us into a cozy private dining room near the window of Big Basin Road with a long table that was separate from the rest of the restaurant. It was a very nice location, quiet and private. The host and server were very friendly and awesome to us. Definitely a great service experience. We started the night with cocktails. Unfortunately the bar tonight was not up to the task. I had a margarita which was watery and lacked any discernable tequila flavor. It seemed like the sweet and sour mix was off that night. My friend has the Don't Be A Prick cocktail which was better but not by much. The girls ordered 2 martinis slightly dirty with stuffed bleu cheese olives. Absolutely stellar food and drinks. The staff is knowledgeable, opinionated, and incredibly attentive. The shrimp fajitas significantly exceeded my expectations in both flavor and portion sizes. They wonderfully balanced the natural flavors of peppers, onions, and shrimp but also the char from the kitchen. Only had capacity for a single cocktail, but everyone around me had ordered 2-3 drinks apiece while craving more.

The food, service, and atmosphere were all great. I loved the chips and guac and al pastor tacos. Finally, Saratoga has good Mexican!
