Dirty Dick's Crab House - Avon

Stopped in while out exploring the area. I had the Snow Crab and boyfriend got the Mariner's Platter. We got oysters on the half shell for an appetizer. The food was great. Service was great. Our server, Erica, was wonderful. Attentive and available but not hovering and too in our face. She wasn't annoyed when we kept asking for more hushpuppies, lol. Restroom was clean. Tea was fresh. We got in just before the dinner rush (4:45-5:00pm) and had the whole place to ourselves for a while.

It was our 1st time. Drew was our waiter. We all ordered bloody Mary's. Best one I've had. We had Mahi Mahi, flounder, shrimp. Hush puppies were yummy. Everything was yummy. Great portions.

Arrived early, was seated quickly. It gets crowded and noisy fast. Hush puppies are brought out on the house. Crispy outside tender and chunks of corn inside. Dipping butter a nice side. Ordered full size spiced shrimp. Comes shell on and gets messy but tasted great. Other order was flounder stuffed with crab cake, light cream sauce over it. The crab cake was surprising with it being 99% crab and tiny amount filler to keep its shape. Side of mixed vegetables really good. Not mushy. The side of rice was okay but chewy. Outside there are picnic tables but only people waiting for tables inside were using them. Silly art boards outside to take photos while you wait. Also has a gift shop with t- shirts etc with store logo.

I stopped here for lunch on a weekday and the service was quick. I liked the seafood plate with vegetables. Nice and cool decoration and coastal theme inside the restaurant. Great selection of catch of the day at fair market prices.

We both had the monster fish sandwiches. My husband had the fries and I had the coleslaw. The fish was excellent. I just ate the fish and left the bun (as I often do). The fries were good, but the coleslaw was very bland and I didn't eat it. Satisfied with everything else. Would go there again. Our server was very nice. We enjoyed all the humor about the name.
