Burger Burger Island Bites Avon, NC

Fantastic find in Avon! My wife and I are always on the hunt for the best burger joints, and Burger Burger truly stands out. The Smile Burger was a highlight - juicy, with an abundance of crispy cheese, perfectly seasoned. The fries? Spot on. The place is clean, the service swift and friendly. A must-visit for burger lovers. Highly recommended!

We stopped here while on a road trip headed to the Outer Banks from Cape Hatteras. Our 12-year-old granddaughter loves cheeseburgers so we were hoping to get a really good one. They definitely delivered fantastic burgers! My husband got the beach, cowboy burger, and he got it without jalapeño. You thought it was seasoned perfectly and tasted amazing. Our granddaughter said it was the best burger she had on the whole road trip. She had ordered a burger every day for the last 7 days and she said this burger was perfect in every way. The fries were OK. Service was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. It is also wheelchair accessible.

We stopped here because Bros was closed. There was kind of a scattered feeling about the place as if they had just opened. The burgers were much bigger than I can eat, unnecessarily so. I found out later that maybe I could have ordered a smaller children's burger. Oh well. One classic burger, one cowboy burger, one order of fries, and two pops was $41. I was shocked. That seems exorbitant to me, especially compared to Bros. While we were there, two separate customers were refunded. One woman didn't like the food, and the other guy's order was lost. It was a weird and awkward experience. But, the burgers were good, just more than I can eat.

Every time I visit Avon/Hatteras Island I HAVE to stop by this locally owned/operated place! Very friendly staff, impeccably clean facility and pleasantly appetizing made-to-order foods that will keep you returning for more. Smile Burger = 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿 THE HIGHLIGHT (for me): their Smile Burger (pictured below). It's truly one of the most uniquely and deliciously crafted burgers I've ever tasted. This behemoth comes with a ring of melted cheddar cheese around its perfectly grilled patty, and you can either tear off its outer parts and stack them into the burger for an added crunch, or break them into standalone pieces and enjoy them à la parmesan crisps. **FYI: This is not a fast food joint; this is a small business that prepares quality, fresh, made-to-order food. Very underwhelming. Service was a tad slow but not horrible. Biggest let down unfortunately was the food. Burger was dry and rather bland too much reliance on toppings to add flavor instead of the meat. Fries were done well and cooked great. The fried chicken strips were insanely bland. Some spices added to the breading or chicken mix would really help. I feel like if they paired their menu down a bit they could focus on better quality with a smaller menu. Trying to be too many things to too many people often leads to mediocrity across the board and unfortunately what I think is hindering them. Atmosphere is nice and clean and prices are very fair. Great customer service as well. I'd give 3.7 stars I'd Google let us but didn't feel like a 4 was representative of our visit but rounded up.
