Dickey's Barbecue Pit

We came across an article listing some of the top barbecue spots in the U.S., and since we were spending time in King George County, we decided to have lunch at Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. Overall, it was fine. The presentation was great, the portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. We ordered the three-meat platter, four sides (beans, fries, mashed potatoes, and green beans) and their pecan pie. The sides were all okay, nothing particularly memorable but decent. The barbecued meats were a bit disappointing, though. Both the brisket and the ribs were dry and under-seasoned. The pulled pork was better: solid, but not outstanding. I’d have it again if I were nearby, but I wouldn’t put it among the better barbecue joints I’ve tried.

Dickey's catered buffet was delivered and setup on time. All of the food was delicious, and many folks said they loved the cole slaw. It was a blessing to know that the food for our event was taken care of. Roger was kind and professional. We have used Dickey's King George catering for years and we are never disappointed. We will definitely come back!

They just opened back up! The staff is great and positive, I had the smoked chicken & Brisket sandwich and it was amazing as always!! Highly recommend and hope more people give them positive reviews.

Loved this Location!! My husband and I were driving through on our way back home and wanted good BBQ. I had the Polish sausage, chicken breast, and ribs. (3 meat platter) I also had Mac and cheese, coke slaw, and green beans. Everything was great!! I even got a second helping of sausage to go for my dad I loved it so much. One last thing. The people who work here, (the guy and girl) fixing the food orders/taking orders were wonderful. The lady was in a great mood and talked to everyone like they were her friend. Loved her! Build one in Virginia Beach.

We placed a pickup order. The service was quick, professional, and they got the order correct. The food was tasty amd plentiful.
