Dee's Hangout

My husband and I stopped by Dee's for lunch. We shared the sample trio that had the two variants of smoked tuna dip and their pimento cheese for an appetizer and shared the fried seafood platter for the entre. The tuna dip was wonderful. Im a big smoked tuna dip girl so im always hunting for that on an appetizer list. My husband preferred the jalapeno ranch version (was very creamy) and I preferred the regular, but both were good. The pimento cheese was good as well. The platter was around $30, but didnt feel like a bang for your buck deal as there wasnt as much food as we thought on there. I didnt care for the batter they fried their items in, it did not have much seasoning taste wise so the taste of the actual seafood was the part of the food you rely on here. Dee’s Hangout is literally the definition of “don’t judge a book by its cover.” When you first walk in, it’s… confusing. It feels like a hallway, the setup is a little quirky, and the plastic tablecloths don’t exactly scream “amazing meal incoming.” But then you get your food 🤤 I got the Low Country Boil and it was SO good. Perfectly cooked seafood, great seasoning, generous portions. And the price point? Honestly impressive for the quality and amount of food you get. It may not win any awards for décor, or presentation but if you care more about flavor than fancy vibes, this place delivers big time. I’ll absolutely be back.

Very pleasant suprise. Very lively flavor present in just about everything eaten here. They seem to be able to provide food on the fresher side of things as well. There are places in the Emeral Isle are serving similar food at higher prices that don't taste this good. So this place is a good alternative to the more touristy restaurants. Very pleasant and engaged service.

Dee’s hangout is good local place, i enjoy it. Atmosphere giving home vibe. Oysters are great here, big size and juicy. The boil seafood was ok, crab legs is bit cooler for boiled, the cajun corn is sweet and tasty, lots of shrimps. The crab soup is delicious, everything is enough, not too salty, not too cheesy. Perfectly done.

The food and service were great! We got the Jalapeño Buttermilk Ranch Smoked Tuna Dip with assorted crackers (great!), a house salad, and the special that day, which was a Chargrilled Red Fish and Shrimp with a Garlic Lemon Dill Sauce (delicious!!). Shayna was our server, and she was friendly, personable, fast, and attentive. The ambiance is festive. Overall, a great and delicious experience. We’ll be back next time we’re in Panama City Beach. I highly recommend!!
