Deb's Jamaican Pot

Dinner tonight from Debs did not meet expectations. The cabbage was excessively salty. The chicken was very boney and didn't have much meat. The yams lacked their usual vibrant orange color, appearing dark brown, and were overly spiced rather than pleasantly sweet. The rice and beans were overcooked, mushy, and lacked flavor. The macaroni and cheese was basic and lacked depth. The plantains were neither soft nor sweet. Additionally, the brown stew sauce was overly salty, excessively spicy, and lacked balance. This is my second visit, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing again. In hindsight, I regret not choosing Delicious Dishes of Edgewater Park, where the food is consistently top-tier and well worth the $70.

An absolutely authentic and awesome selection. Just great food and amazing staff. I love the food and the generous hospitality. Thanks Deb!!!

Excellent Jamaican slow cooked falling off the bone Goat Curry and Brown Stew Chicken with White Rice, Cabbage and Plantains. And Jerk Chicken. And very reasonably priced. Highly recommend! But it's primarily a take out place, and not really a dine in place, though you can dine in if you want.

I ordered rice and gravy so I expect gravy and they ladled about a teaspoon worth on top, and the cabbage has no flavor and tastes like a bag of frozen mixed vegetables with cabbage added to it, you can see the bagged frozen vegetables in it. Even the plantains were burnt. Ugh so disgusting I eat Jamaican food all the time and this is hands down the worst Jamaican food I’ve ever had. I recommend going elsewhere for Jamaican food because this place ain’t it.

These oxtails were tender! I don’t usually like large oxtails but they were very good. It was a nice portion as well. The prices were really good too.
