Dare County Library

I went to the library in search of information about a local legend. The help I got was exceptional. I went on one day to begin my search and when I returned the next day, Sophie Bennewitz had a printed list that I was happily surprised to find! The entire staff there is helpful and got up to help. No one was sitting at all on the library floor! Every one eager to assist.

A great, smallish library, but with a lot to offer. The kids section is cute and a fun place for the kids. We stopped by from out of town, and it was a relaxing break from everything else. Staff was incredibly helpful also.

I always have loved coming to the library.. it's just more enjoyable to read a book than read on the computer..the staff are friendly and really helpful... But what I love the most is how kid friendly they are ..it's a great way to pass a hot afternoon and the kids really enjoy it.. my grandchildren enjoyed reading to me, playing a few games on the computer ( there's a children's spot to go online in the kids section) and they even enjoyed grabbing some crayons ( that are supplied) and coloring some pictures from super large coloring books.. had a good time with them and it's educational..

Really Wonderful Place with a great, helpful staff. It's smaller than most public libraries because Manteo isn't a very big place itself. It's just a barrier island on the Coast of North Carolina. I have always been impressed with their selection of books. What they don't have, they can get through inter library loan. Free computer time is available. You only have to sign in and wait if the computers are all taken; however, if there's a list of people waiting, usage time is limited to an hour per person. I would recommend it. My son and I spent many wonderful times in there.

Small, bright, quiet library with free off street parking. Very friendly helpful knowledgeable staff. Printing is as easy as could be. Wifi is easy to use with speed test of 5Mbs down and an amazing 28Mps up. Public computers are available. A few desks have power for laptops. They have plenty of tables and chair and some comfortable chairs for relaxed reading.
