Dairy Queen Grill & Chill

I am a loyal DQ fan, my friends are too. Whenever we hangout in Pell City, we usually get Dairy Queen. We’ve become quite fond of our local staff. Although, last night in the drive thru we had a rough experience.. the girl in over the headset had a hard time taking our order. Which we understand happens, it’s been a problem a lot lately at multiple fast food chains. So then a boy took our order but he also, for some reason thought we were ordering four meals, despite the fact nobody ever said four LOL, it happens, we eventually get our order and make it to the window. He’s a little quiet, maybe “short” with us. Still has to correct the staff multiple times that we just want ONE 3 piece. We eventually get our box, which is heavy… so I open it.. and see. Ketchup. I do not often stop at a Dairy Queen. I like the product and have, over several decades, consumed many milk shakes, sundaes, dip top cones and hamburgers. On this occasion, I had a craving for a dip top cone while on a long road trip. I spotted a Dairy Queen on the road in Pell City and we stopped. The restaurant was neat and clean. It was attractive and the person who took the order was friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered a medium tip top cone and my dining companion opted for a sundae. Both had the full Dairy Queen flavor. The taste was excellent. The dip top cone has great chocolate flavor and licking the ice cream off of the chocolate while it melted was a delightful experience. Food is generally good here. They wanted to charge a 7 year old 65 cents for sprinkles on his kids ice cream cup that came with kids meal. I understand the company has to make money but declining to put sprinkles on a kids ice cream cup over 65 cents is immoral imo.

We showed up last night in the drive through after a baseball game right at closing time without realizing it. The only way I found out was because of the time it took for our food to come out. Instead of telling us that they were closing in 1 minute they cooked us all fresh food and brought it out to us. The crew of this restaurant deserves more praise than I’m able to give them just for being amazing human beings and I will definitely be going back there.

They make the best banana splits I have ever had, and their chicken tenders are to die for !!! I tried the peanut butter cookie dough blizzard today, and it was amazing!! Also tried the crispy chicken tenders salad and was very disappointed. There wasn't much of ANYTHING in the salad that was crispy including the lettuce. This salad DEFINITELY was not made today!! I didn't even bother to eat it I was so disappointed!!
