Went w/husband for their Thanksgiving Dinner for the first time. Everything was delicious with LOTS of food, so I took leftovers home. My husband enjoyed his fried turkey meal while I had the traditional dinner. It was super busy, but the greeter, waitress and checkout employee were all very polite. Lots of smiles and we felt like Thanksgiving was abundant among the employees. The manager was going around checking on customers. Impressive! The pumpkin pie was really tasty (extra spices?). Used their app to do "call ahead seating," so only waited 5 minutes to be seated when we arrived.
Dinner at Cracker Barrel with the family felt like a culinary lottery, and we definitely didn’t win the jackpot. We ordered two steaks: one with shrimp, one with fried chicken. I asked for medium rare, but my steak showed up well done, while my wife's medium steak decided to swap places and came out medium rare. A real steak identity crisis! The four-piece fried chicken meal arrived with just three pieces. Maybe the fourth piece took a personal day? We didn’t complain — we just quietly mourned its absence and ate our three-piece "four-piece" meal. The drinks were another adventure. The root beer was so warm it could’ve doubled as soup, and the lemonade was so sweet I’m pretty sure it gave me a cavity on contact. We finished with two double chocolate Coca-Cola cakes with ice cream. The i
Cracker Barrel is an okay kind of restaurant and it has the best food that starts in old country and I even tried MaMa’s Breakfast Combo with the Friench Toast and scrambled eggs and sausage. I can’t wait to go back to Cracker Barrel.
We were seated quickly, and waited on quickly as well. Our waitress brought out hot biscuits while we're waiting for our food, they were delicious. We both ordered the fried catfish, it was hot, I mean really hot. Now, I've had their catfish before so I know how it should be, this catfish was not up to par. Most of the edges were like trying to eat catfish jerky, when I finally got to some edible fish, there was a long dark section in it. I tried to eat it, but twice, bit in and twice found these long (maybe an inch) stretchy fibers, so I pushed that aside. All in all, out of the 2 filets, I was able to find maybe 10 good bites of fish, my bf couldnt even eat his. Finally, when we were ready to leave, our waitress was no where it sight. The receptionist basically hunted our bill dow
For my starter here, we ordered the casserole tots, the casserole tots were very good and had decent portion. For the main course, i ordered lemon peppered rainbow trout with a side of steak fries and broccoli. Along with half a basket of biscuits half cornbread. The lemon peppered rainbow trout was overall a good menu option it was a decent portion and tasted good. The basket of rolls and cornbread that was supposed to be half and half had 1 piece of cornbread and all rolls. Next, the service here was very helpful with us ordering, although when we were seated, we sat at a table that wasn't clean and just wiped off with a couple of napkins by the waitress. The plates we were already done with weren't taken away, so we hardly had any table space. The atmosphere here is very nice, not so
