Customer Reviews
We had breakfast at the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and really enjoyed the experience. We like the atmosphere, especially the old items hanging on the walls. The food is very good and served promptly and hot. Victoria, our server, was extremely friendly and attentive and made our experience even more special.
Stopped here for dinner. It wasn't crowded and we were able to be seated immediately. Our server was very courteous and friendly and refilled our drinks without us asking for refills. Food came out promptly and was hot. The restaurant was recently painted and I liked the beige walls with the brown trim. It was bright with a clean look. They still had their vintage decor. Didn't check out their restrooms so can't review them. We appreciated that they had RV parking in the back though they were somewhat short, but we were able to park our Motorhome & toad over to the side.
It wasn’t crowded but took 45 minutes to get our food. When it finally came out some was cold and some was missing. My sister and I got the fried apples. She got overfilled bowl. Mine were missing. When the waitress finally brought them there were only 3 apple slices in the bowl. We never received refills. Disappointing for Cracker Barrel.
We used to go to the one in Mandeville, but the service was always terrible. We decided to try the one in Hammond and were pleasantly surprised. They have modernized this location with the lighter colors. I think it looks good. The food was good and our waitress was excellent. She kept coming back to see if we needed anything. We will be going back to this location even though it is a lot farther.
1st time at the CB in Hammond, LA. Only a few patrons in the restaurant while we were there. Gift shop was stocked full of items. My husband ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. I had the Homestyle Chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. Both dinners came out the same. The fried chicken breasts were soaked in oil. The mashed potatoes AND green beans were COLD. The basket of biscuits and corn muffins were good. We left feeling disappointed after a dismal dinner! Server never asked how our meals were...only if we needed anything. With all the dining option off of I-55 this may explain why they weren't busier!!!!
