Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Food was just OK this time. We both had spicy grilled catfish and didn't finish it. A couple of the filet's were quite tough consistency, chewy. Vegetables were delicious, service was good, restaurant was pretty cold we actually moved our table seating closer to fireplace. I think the air conditioner was on and the weather outside was below freezing but I guess it must be warmer inside, nevertheless, fireplace was cozy

Beware! Floor is extremely slippery. Heard multiple people complain and nearly fall down. Food was okay, nothing extraordinary, but nothing terrible either.

Disappointing visit…Took my 98-year old WWII veteran friend out for lunch. The atmosphere at Cracker Barrel is always nicely “Americana” with its memorabilia of our country a hundred years ago. Menu offerings are plentiful and service this visit was acceptable. My guest ordered the meatloaf with two sides and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, my choice of salad topped with grilled chicken was terrible. The chicken was rubbery and I wound up leaving most of it in the plate. I want to say we eat at Cracker Barrel pretty often all over the US, as we travel extensively. The service was okay here, BUT our experience turned bad after we got our food. Because one of my sides was turnip greens and I picked a bad day to order them here I guess. Upon arrival of my food I kept smelling something weird (rotten or spoiled), but I ate anyways bc I was hungry. The first bite of greens I ate with my other food and I thought something was a bit off. The 2nd bite I ate by itself and I had to IMMEDIATELY spit it out. It was SOOO horrible, I don't know what the heck was wrong with it and I can't even explain the smell. It was definitely spoiled or rotten somehow. Now if a restaurant makes it right after I make them aware of something I don't typically write a bad review

Food was really good and very appealing! Dharma was my server and she did a very good job! Checked up on me consistently, had very good customer service, the best attitude, very welcoming, and did it all while being very busy! If anyone deserves a raise it’s her! I definitely will be coming back to the Belton Cracker Barrel location!
