Customer Reviews
The staff is kind, helpful, and obviously dedicated to representation. There are great work spaces and events, and the book selection is good too.
Best little library on the island. Staff is just wonderful - always willing to go the extra mile to help. Their kids room is separate and always has coloring activities out. Pre Covid they had toys too. The books are nicely displayed but best of all are the comfy sofa chairs dotted around to snuggle up on and read. Very clean and welcoming. Bonus: the library is right next to the center of town and the market, with plenty of parking.
Libraries are the last truly democratic public spaces in America. Everyone is welcome, and no money is required to participate or be present. They are civic treasures & *every* library deserves 5 stars! This particular library is beautiful, very comfy & welcoming, has stunning views, and incredibly bright & helpful librarians. Even though it's quite small, just like the rest of the libraries in the Sno-Isle system, they will transfer a book from anywhere if you request it. I have even requested books the library doesn't own & they've purchased them upon my request! Before I moved to Whidbey, the downtown Central library in Los Angeles was my local. I expected that I would be horribly dissapointed in the small rural libraries here, but the only significant difference for patrons is events
Fantastic staff and furnishings, I wish it had more options in books within the building. They also removed the scifi/fantasy section making it hard to find books of that specific genre. Admittedly, the shelves do not cater to separated sections very well. So it makes sense, but just emphasizes the small size of the bookshelves.
Friendly staff. Lots of spaces to use & enjoy. Great system for borrowing. Love the monthly art displays from local artists & groups
