Captain Whidbey

Our party of three just went to the dining room for brunch at 9:30 am on a Saturday. We did not have to wait to be seated. Our server was absolutely delightful and friendly. The coffee was good, and we enjoyed a ham hash, the spice cake, French toast with poached stone fruit, and an omelette. The potatoes on the side were tender inside, but crispy on the outside and coated with a light dusting of herbs - so good. Everything came out beautifully plated and was delicious. The portions were good for one person. The setting is truly memorable.

My wife and I (along with our pup) just returned from an unforgettable overnight stay at Captain Whidbey Inn. We've lived in WA for a long time and have never stayed here - what were we waiting for??!! This hotel is fantastic - tucked away on Penn Cove. The hotel is quaint, adorable, well-provisioned, relaxing, comfortable, and in a beautiful setting. The communication before arrival was excellent (I love that you can pre-order amenities to have in your room), check-in was quick and easy, our room was incredibly comfortable and had everything we needed - instant relaxation. I had such a lovely experience at the Restaurant at Captain Whidbey. The host was genuinely one of the most generous and welcoming people I’ve encountered, which immediately set the tone for the evening. The food was wonderful thoughtfully curated, flavorful, and the plate sizes were just right. I had dinner with a friend, and they were incredibly accommodating, even welcoming us with our dogs, which we really appreciated. The staff checked in on us regularly without ever feeling intrusive, and everything was very reasonably priced. The property itself adds so much to the experience, it has a rustic, old-world charm, almost like a historic waterfront lodge tucked among the trees, with a cozy, timeless feel. One of the most beautiful and unique hotels I’ve ever been to. It was so meticulously designed and curated. I felt like I was in a historic inn and also a lavish getaway. The rooms in the cabin are shared bathroom but I wouldn’t have it any other way. The spaces in the main house are to die for. Truly the best way to experience. Free yoga on Saturday morning was amazing and we had it all to ourselves. We went on our joint birthdays/ anniversary trip and they went absolutely above and beyond to make us feel celebrated. Personalized notes at dinner, bottle of champagne in the room, etc. It was magical. And the nature is stunning as well. Felt like one night was just enough to keep us hungry for more!

Captain Whidbey Inn is a great cozy get away. I stayed in the main cabin, which had such a unique feel with beautiful wood interiors. I highly recommend dining at the restaurant, the food and staff were amazing. In the morning we would get coffee from the general store and sit on the porch while watching the sun rise. This is a must see if you are in the Coupeville area.
