Wow incredible food and amazing service the food was so good and to think this is lunch. I don’t even know how someone can finish it because the portions are so big. But proud to have came in and brought my wife here. We loved it and anytime we are in New York we will be back. Please ask Alex and Johanna they will make sure your good and help you with the menu for sure.
Found this spot as a fantastic in-between hang out between point A (me) and point B (friend), and hanged we did... For a good 3 hours, we munched on tapas bites, food food, and drinks. The vibe is cool. Blasting the latino hits, bar stool and faux trees, everyone inside seems to be having a good time. Staff was friendly and checked in on us often. So much tantalizing options to choose from, with country flags denoting the food's origins. Alot of it looks legit, stuff you don't see on a typical americanized menu. We decided on the shrimp ceviche (which comes with a side that we replaced with brussel sprouts). Light and refreshing was the shrimp, picking at every last corn drop. Grilled and flavorful were the brussel sprouts, surprised that something so healthy could be so good. Portions
Overall I liked this place. The arepita sliders were my favorite - so yum. The bottom is crispy on the outside soft inside and a little sweet. Paired well with the salty juicy stewed beef. The cremas were delicious and the tomatoes gave a fresh bite. Such a good bite. The pernil was super soft and juicy and the chicharon was a super crispy bite. The rice was so surprisingly flavorful and so were the black beans. Solid dish just wish there was some veg. The calamari was regular nothing special but good. The price is a little steep the entree was somehow the cheapest thing we got; their apps are pricey. Came out to $35pp. 8/10
The atmosphere was welcoming and fun .Our waitress Julianna was superb and friendly. The food was the best I have had in a long time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant. The portions are reasonable. The cogui on the wall and music makes you feel like you are back on the island.
My family and I were in NY for Father's Day. We decided to try a random restaurant and I am so happy that we chose Counter & Bodega! We were seated pretty quickly. They were busy but the waitress was still attentive. The food was incredible. It really exceeded my expectations. We would absolutely come back whenever we visit NY again. 10/10 highly recommend!
