If you’re anywhere near Midtown, Costas Latin Street Food is an absolute must-visit. The moment you walk up, you can smell the flavor in the air—fresh, authentic, and made with real love. The food here is everything NYC street food should be: bold, vibrant, and unforgettable. I tried several dishes, and every single bite was packed with seasoning and cooked to perfection. The portions are generous, the ingredients taste incredibly fresh, and the flavors truly represent the best of Latin street cuisine. Whether you’re craving tender, well-seasoned meats, perfectly cooked rice and beans, or fresh-off-the-grill goodness, Costas does not disappoint. The staff is warm, welcoming, and fast—even during the busy lunch rush. You can tell they take pride in their food and their service. Prices are

Can’t get enough of the Sancocho soup. Steak Arepas also delicious. Grab and go pickup window. Always better to order ahead.

Ordered take out and it was ready, but still hot after my walk there. Had the El Ché and La Flaca arepas, cilantro rice and beans, and a sweet plantain with queso. The arepas had a really interesting and tasty combination of fillings, but were a bit dry. I think they’d benefit from an extra side of sauce. The rice and beans were on the bland side, I think they’d be fine with a squeeze of lime, sprinkle of queso fresco and sour cream. The plantain with queso was wonderful - you really can’t go wrong with those. I got all that food for about $22 which I think is super reasonable as it was very filling and I had some leftovers. I’d definitely go here again, but I’d probably get some extra sauces on the side and add sour cream and queso fresco too - that would make a huge difference for me!

I placed an order today for delivery for a lunch and learn that I had with a Design firm. Costas confirmed my time of 11:45am via text. The food never showed up even though they sent a text that the food was on its way.. I called at 12:15pm to inquire about the delivery but they claimed the food was at the restaurant ready for pick up. When I told them it was for delivery not pick up, it took them an hour to deliver the food (6 blocks away). The food was ice cold. I called later to complain but they did not return my call. I have catered lunches for my Designers for over 35 years and never had such horrible service. I do not know which is worse, cold tacos or the cold response. Do not use this restaurant, they are terrible!!!

Title: Great Food, but Recent Service Issues at Costas Review: I’m a regular customer from the area, and I’ve always enjoyed the food at Costas. However, I tried going two days in a row this past week, and the ordering kiosk outside wasn’t working both days, which led to slower service than usual. I had to wait some time, and one day I even left. Great food tho, but these kiosk service related issues really affected my experience. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I'll be coming back...
