Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant

We have been watching this place as they built it and couldn't wait for it to open. We went on their 3rd day of operation and it did not seem like a brand new restaurant, it was like they had been open for years. We had heard from friends about the wine club so we had to sign up for it. Can't wait to get our first 2 bottles. When you walk in you are walking into their retail wine store which offers wine by the bottle as well as wine tasting. You have to walk through the retail area to get to the restaurant. They only sell the wines they make and they have over 70 different types in their portfolio. Also, you cannot buy their wines in the store, only at their restaurants. I want to start by saying that the people were exceptional. Everyone greeted us warmly when we walked in, and our waiter was a true gentleman—very kind and attentive. The hospitality from the staff was genuinely appreciated. However, I do want to share some honest feedback about our experience. My friend and I dine at places like Fleming’s and Hyde Park regularly, and unfortunately the food that evening was not on the level we were expecting. The salad was not quite on point, and the drinks seemed a bit off as well. Even our waitress mentioned that the bar area was having some issues and that they were working through a few things. This is a very nice place, open and spacious. There is a large bar and restaurant area. Nice atmosphere, excellent service. Lots of wine, full bar, and some beer options. The food is good, I ordered the filet medallions medium and they came well done. When I go back if they prepare my steak properly I will update the food to 5 stars. Great place, well worth giving it a try.

A spot unlike anything around the area. Food was fabulous. Great selection of fresh fish, pastas and steak. Staff was very knowledgeable about all of their wine options. Incredible pricing on their wine tasting at the front bar when you walk in ($15pp!!!). Can't wait to come back!

Upon walking in, I noticed Jerry from the Troy location. I was able to talk to him about the new location and he was as gracious as usual. The Livonia location looks great. It’s a beautiful ambiance and unique. The parking is a great size. It will accommodate many patrons! My party was waited on by the lovely Ms. Tasia. She was so personable and a great representation for the establishment. In addition Claire the manager stopped by to welcome us as well. I can’t wait to get acquainted with the staff here as this location was closer to my home.
